Alvaro Villalta, P.E.

Alvaro Villalta, owner and president of AV Consulting Engineers, has spent more than 20 years specializing in electrical design of educational and health care facilities, office buildings and factories. His area of expertise includes project estimating, specification writing, power distribution design, PA system design, auditorium sound system design, auditorium lighting system design, fire alarm and security system design, educational technology system design, health care intercom system design and special health care power design.

As an educational facility design specialist, Villalta understands the unique challenges of electrical engineering in schools.  He has dedicated more than two decades to electrical design for educational facilities.

From 1985—1998, Villalta worked for Fanning/Howey, Associates, Inc, a nationally recognized engineering/architectural firms and consulting firm specializing in educational planning and design for K-12  schools. A senior associate for Fanning/Howey, Villalta was director of the firm’s electrical department for more than 10 years.  In 1998, he started AV Consulting Engineers.

A 1986 graduate of Purdue University, Villalta earned his degree in engineering.  He is registered as a professional engineer in the states of Indiana and Ohio and has earned the following certifications:  AT&T Local Area Network Distribution System Design—ND3330 Cert.; R.O. Associates, LTD—Grounding on Electrical Distribution Systems, 1996; Sound System Design—Synergetic Audio Concepts Certification, 1996 & 1998 and IEEE—Fault Analysis and Protective Coordination; and effects on Non-linear Loads on the Power Distribution Systems, 1990 from the University of Wisconsin.
